About Us

Our family started our love affair with historic Australian racing cars back in 1973, when we bought the first car for our collection – the notorious Ford GTHO Phase IV. Since then, our family have dedicated their blood, sweat and tears to restoring and maintaining these vital pieces of Australian motor racing history. Our multi-million dollar collection has grown to over 80 cars that are spread around museums, showrooms and garages throughout Australia. And it is due to this collection we started our very own car care range – Bowden’s Own Premium Car Care.

After badly affecting a coat of paint on one of our very loved cars using a well known car care brand, we commissioned local chemists to research, test and review various "premium" car care products. To our surprise a big variety of the different "high quality" products contained potentially damaging ingredients such as harmful silicones, acids or corrosive salt. Not willing to fork absurd money for the overpriced "specialist" European manufacturers we started on our journey of producing the best car care products for cars living and driving in Australian conditions.

Soon, fans at car events where our cars were displayed started enquiring about the ‘no-name’ car care products we were using on our cars and their super shiny finish. The products were only designed and created for us to use on our own cars. We never expected the products to gain so much popularity. But it is not a surprise considering the quality of the affordable products that are currently on the shelves. It all started with a few car lovers asking for some left over product at the end of a car event which was given to them in label-less bottles. When our customers came back event after event asking for another bottle of product, and more people started asking to try it out, we knew we couldn’t keep this to ourselves and had to share it with the Australian motoring public.

In 2002, Bowden’s Own Premium Car Care was born and started distribution throughout Autobarn and other independent stores Australia-wide. With every passing year, the product range continues to grow and develop with the needs of our cars and the public. We continually research and develop our products, to ensure we produce, use, and offer our customers the best possible formulas that are suitable for the Australian conditions, easy to use, give brilliant results and most importantly, safe for your car.

Once people use our products, they are amazed at the results. Even if they don’t have a historic racing car they still love the super shiny finish and the fact that they are using products that are formulated and produced by Australian’s for Australian’s.
