Ron Thorp successfully drove the pants off his AC Cobra in the late 60's. In doing so, this thundering little car not only racked up an incredible race history, it also drove its way into the hearts of motorsport loving Aussies everywhere.

Stormin' Norm proved he was more than just a heavy right foot, when he won the 1970 Australian Touring Car Championship in his wild Shell Yellow Monaro. Read all about this unique Monaro, which was recently crowned the most influential Australian Muscle Car to ever hit our racetracks.



International Racemobile GT

The I.R.G.T. may as well have come from another planet. When Mr Moffat teamed up with Cook's Bodyworks and International Trucks to create the most modern transporter ever. The competition were overawed by the sight of the bright, Coca-Cola red, ACCO. The old girl was the first purpose built transporter used in Australia and is an important piece in our motorsport history.

Norm Beechey in a Ford factory Phase III? Yes it happened in 1972, when Holden's hero was given one of the factory prepared GTHO's to race in series production.

Bob Morris's LJ XU-1 Torana

Bob Morris's GTR XU-1 was Australia's most successful privateer XU1 race team of the 70's. Battling with stacked odds against GTHO falcons and the works Holden Dealer Team, Bob drove his little Torana into the hearts of the underdog loving Australians everywhere.

The Phase IV story is the most revered in GTHO folklore. This car is one of the three surviving 'Super Cars'.

Allan Moffat's XW GTHO Phase I

This GTHO Phase I was campaigned by Ford legend Allan Moffat in 1969 & '70. With its success's on the track it built the foundations of the GTHO legend.

In the sixties there was no better showman than 'Stormin'' Norman Beechey. With his spectacular driving style, he became one of the first true heroes of Australian motor sport.

Ian 'Pete' Geoghegan's 1965 Ford Mustang

Pete Geoghegan and his '65 Mustang have gone down in history as one of the great combinations of Australian Touring Car Racing. This Shelby powered Stang and its naturally gifted driver produced a record breaking dominance that will never be seen again.

The story on the most brutal Falcons Ford Motor Company had ever put their breath into. 600 BHP, light weight bodies, a reputed $200,000 investment and two of the best drivers put together to contest the Australian Touring Car Championship for Ford Australia.

The 200+ mph sports car that Ford built to beat Ferrari in the prestigious Le Mans 24 hour race, which they did in '66, '67, '68 and '69. #P1034 is one of two genuine examples of a GT40 in Australia.

Porsche 356A Carrera GS

This early Porsche is one of several highly desirable Carrera engined 356's delivered new to Australia.

It was a special order car for NSW Porsche distributor Mr Laurie O'Neill. He requested on the order sheet that 'the factory make every effort to ensure that this is to be the best ever Porsche to come into Australia', and that request was filled.

This purpose built factory race car almost upset the Australian V8 fraternity in '68 and '69 when it came Oh so close to winning the Australian Touring Car Championship. Not quite as fast as the Australian and American muscle cars but always managed to finish at the front of the field.

Allan Moffat's XY GTHO Phase III

The Ford Falcon GTHO Phase III is the ultimate Australian supercar. Allan Moffat is synonymous with racing GTHO's. This is his 1973 Australian Touring Car Championship winning factory race car and arguably the most horn factory phase 3 built.
