GOLDEN AGE OF RACING VOL 1One of the iconic race teams back in the 60's was the Alec Mildren Racing Team with its two star drivers Frank Gardener and a young Kevin Bartlett. the first of two DVD's has one hour twenty minutes of racing compiled from film reels Mildren had made for each big racing event throughout Australia in 1965 and 1966. These include the 1966 Tasman series, featuring the greats Graham Hill, Jackie Stewart, Jim Clark, Denny Hulme against the local's Jack Barbham, Leo Geoghegan and of course Gardener and Bartlett in the Mildren yellow, open wheelers. Sports car races with the likes of Mckay's 250LM Ferrari, Lotus Elans, Bob Janes Light weight E type, Thorpes AC Shelby Cobra, and the Bartletts drifting GTZ2 Alfa are simply glorious. The touring car car races are our real favourite with Ian "Pete" Geoghegans 65' Mustang, Beechy's Nova, Bartlett in the GTA Alfa'a, Mini;s aplenty and so much more. 1965 Sandown 6 hour race is another winner as it features an ex team Lotus Cortina, driven by the young Canadian Allan Moffat. This is Australian motor racing history at its true golden age. A$ 34.95 GST Inc. Estimated Ship: Within 5 Business Days |
