Understanding the differences between Wheely Clean - Down & Dirty - Orange Agent

We offer three epic targeted cleaning sprays, Wheely Clean, Down & Dirty and Orange Agent. These three formulas are VERY different in how they clean, what type of dirt they are best at cleaning, and what types of surfaces they should be used on, this article will explain the differences between them. 

Wheely Clean: For Heavy Brake Dust!

Wheely Clean is a pH neutral dedicated wheel cleaner specifically designed to remove heavy brake dust. The formula reacts with metal particles in brake dust, turning bright purple as it dissolves the brake dust into a water soluble complex. This action makes the brake dust easy to pressure rinse off of the wheel. It is acid-free, and safe for all common wheel types, including clear-coated, painted, chromed, and polished finishes.

• Neutral (pH of 7.0), acid free formula - for strong yet safe cleaning.
• Safe for all common wheel types - including clear-coated, painted, chromed, and polished finishes.
• Iron reactive ingredients - safely and quickly dissolve heavy brake dust.
• Purpose built - to suit high-performance European, or any cars with heavy brake dust issues.

The more brake dust on the wheel, the better the Wheely Clean will work! Due to this reactive mechanism, Wheely Clean is not suitable for carbon ceramic brakes, or unsealed/porous surfaces that are in poor condition.
 

Down & Dirty: For Mud/Grime and Degreasing

Down & Dirty is an alkaline all-purpose cleaner and degreaser for heavy-duty cleaning, primarily for safe deep cleaning of tyre sidewalls. It is effective at breaking down red dirt, mud, grease, old tyre dressings, and leeched anti ozonant from the rubber. Its primary uses include:

• Higher pH of 10.0 - For extra cleaning power.
• Tyre cleaning - Removes old tyre dressings and the brown appearance caused by anti-ozonant (brown leeching from new tyre rubber) build-up. 
• Underbody and inner guard cleaning - Cleans accumulated dirt, mud, grease, and oil from chassis, suspension, plastic, and rubber components.
• Engine bay degreasing -  Breaks down grease and grime in engine bays with good foaming and work time for larger areas.
• Red Dirt removal - Easily dissolves red dirt from exterior surfaces.

Down & Dirty can also be used as a general wheel cleaner, particularly for vehicles with less brake dust and more general road or off-road grime. It is the recommended product for cleaning wheels on vehicles with carbon ceramic brake discs. This product is non-caustic and biodegradable. The higher pH of this one gives excellent cleaning power, but is not recommended for use on unsealed or bad condition surfaces or driveways. Down & Dirty needs to be rinsed off thoroughly with water after cleaning.
 

Orange Agent: Versatile All-Purpose & Interior Cleaner

Orange Agent is a highly versatile, pH-neutral all-purpose cleaner with a citrus base. It is designed for a broad range of cleaning tasks, mainly interior where stronger cleaners like Down & Dirty can't be used. Its versatility makes it suitable for:

• Neutral (pH of 7.0) - for extra safety on all surfaces.
• Dirty Interior cleaning: The neutral pH and gentle cleaning action makes it ideal for all heavily soiled interior vinyl and leather surfaces. 
• Adhesive removal:  Simply spray Orange Agent onto a Dirty Deeds cloth or similar, and gently agitate until the residue is gone.
• Spot cleaning: Addresses tree sap, and general grime around exterior badges and grilles.
• Shampoo extraction machines: Safe for use when cleaning fabric surfaces (diluted at 1:20 with water for best results).
• Removing polish/wax residue from black plastic: Ideal for quickly removing residues from these tyres of textured surfaces. 

Orange Agent offers broad utility where a safe, yet effective, deeper cleaner is required across multiple vehicle surfaces. It can be wiped off with a clean Dirty Deeds cloth, making it more versatile on areas that you can't rinse with water. Orange Agent may not be suitable for older/perished surfaces, single stage painted interior bits, and lettering used on indicator/wiper stalks.
 

Choosing the Right Product

• Use Wheely Clean when you need fast and easy removal of heavy brake dust from wheel faces.
• Use Down & Dirty when you need to clean thick dirt, mud, tyre browning, or old tyre dressings from tyres, underbodies, engine bays, wheels, or if you are cleaning wheels with carbon ceramic brake disks.
• Use Orange Agent for general all-purpose cleaning on grimy interiors, and delicate surfaces where you can't rinse off with water.
