The Bay to Birdwood 2026
The RAA Bay to Birdwood is one of the world’s great historic motoring events as well as the largest continually-held motoring event for veteran, vintage and classic vehicles anywhere in the world. The Bowden's Own Event's Crew is EXCITED to once be there!
Historic motorcars, motorcycles, and commercial vehicles travel the 67km route from the coastal suburb of West Beach to the National Motor Museum in the Adelaide Hills town of Birdwood. With a history spanning back to 1980, the RAA Bay to Birdwood is a well-known and highly respected historic motoring event that brings the community and citizen-collectors from across the globe together for a celebration.
At the National Motor Museum Finish Festival, motor enthusiasts and ticket holders join the citizen-collectors as all 1500 entrant vehicles cross the finish line. The Finish Festival hosts hundreds of rarely seen historic vehicles, food trucks that offer delicious gourmet street food and Adelaide Hills craft beer, wines and spirits. We have musical entertainment and plenty of activities for families.
Attendees are encouraged to wear vintage clothing and enter the Fashions on the Field competition for best period-dress.
Winners of the Concours d’Elegance, Preservation and EV Conversion awards are presented at the Finish Festival.
The event is held over three locations. Commencing at Barratt Reserve West Beach, vehicle entrants arrive from early morning and grab a quick coffee before being waved off as they embark on the route to Birdwood.
Continuing along the official route where spectators are encouraged to wave to the passing parade of historic and rarely seen vehicles.
Celebrating a successful completion of the run, entrant vehicles converge on the grounds of the National Motor Museum, where the Finish Festival starts. Soak up the wonderful atmosphere and be entertained, admire hundreds of rarely seen historic vehicles and talk to the owners. Enjoy quality regional produce, Adelaide Hills craft beer, wines and spirits plus delicious gourmet street food served by local food trucks.
Visitors are encouraged to don their best vintage clothing and enter the Fashions on the Field competition for best period-dress.
